Kuwaiti foreign minister to visit Tehran very soon
Kuwait-Iran, Politics, 7/7/2000

Diplomatic sources in Kuwait expected that the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad will accept and invitation from Iran to visit Tehran shortly.

The sources noted that this visit will be a step which will prepare for negotiations dealing with the borders of the continental rift between the two countries. This will be however, after completing the agreement with Saudi Arabia over the sea border which the Kuwaiti government submitted a detailed report to the Nation's Council ( parliament) about it.

To this effect, the foreign relations committee at the Kuwaiti Nation's Council held an extraordinary meeting. It was attended by the Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad and the Minister of Oil Sheikh Saud Nasser al-Sabah and other officials concerned with questions of the borders. It was also attended by the council's speaker Jasem al-Khurafi and other 13 Parliament member.

The Cabinet debated the details of the agreement which was signed with Saudi Arabia last Sunday and submitted maps and documents.
