Sudan airways to start Lagos route
Sudan, Economics, 7/6/2000
Sudan Airways is to start flights on a new route to Lagos, Nigeria's economic capital, this weekend, an official of the company disclosed in Khartoum Wednesday.
Its marketing manager, Ismael Zumrawi said the inaugural flight has been scheduled for 8 July.
He said the occasion would be celebrated in a big festival at Lagos International Airport Saturday.
Currently, Sudan Airways operates two flights a week to the northern Nigerian city of Kano.
Zumrawi said the objective of introducing flights to Lagos was "to consolidate relations and ease missions of businessmen from both countries."
"The new route will also connect Lagos with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States, through Sudan," he added.
