Levi: Declaring a Palestinian state unilaterally means Palestinian withdrawal from the peace process
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/5/2000
David Levi, the Israeli foreign minister said that the decision of the Palestinian Central Council concerning declaring a Palestinian state unilaterally means the Palestinian side's withdrawal from the peace process.
The Palestinian side denied the allegations and said that the Palestinian Central Council's decision does not close the door to the peace process.
David Levi's reply is considered the strongest remark till now on the decision of the Palestinian Central Council. Levi said that there is will be no Israeli government that will agree to the Palestinians conditions urging on forming a national unity government to confront any possibilities that may result from the Palestinian unilaterally step "on which Israel will also unilaterally retaliate."
