Iraq, Saudi Arabia plan to restore remains of Saudi pilot died in Gulf war
Iraq-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 7/5/2000
Saudi Arabia and Iraq have approved a plan set by the International committee of the Red Cross ICRC to restore back the remains of the Saudi pilot Muhammad Nazira whose plane was downed in Iraq during the Gulf war in 1991.
AFP quoted the chairman of the permanent committee of the ICRC in Iraq as saying that the plan states the two Iraqi and Saudi sides to head for the place where the pilot is presumed to have been buried. He added this place is not reachable from the Iraqi side because of the mines, noting that this operation is complex and requires great efforts to be attained, SANA reported.
Besides the two Iraqi and Saudi sides, three foreign experts including an expert in dismantling land-mines and a " legal" doctor will take part in this operation which is expected to be carried out in October.
