Moussa meets with businessmen
Egypt, Economics, 7/4/2000

Egypt's Foreign Minister Amr Moussa held a meeting in Cairo Monday with 70 businessmen who will accompany him on July 17, on a four-day tour that would take him to south Africa and Switzerland.

"The meeting was a chance to evaluate potentials for trade and investment exchange in both African countries and obstacles that should be eliminated for those particular goals," said some businessmen as they emerged from the meeting.

They asked for some information to be provided by the Egyptian Embassy in South Africa on cooperation and investments in the fields of agriculture, industry and services.

Moussa toured several African countries accompanied by a large number of businessmen who made transactions with their opposite numbers.

Egypt gives due attention to inter-African economic cooperation and it joined the common market for eastern and southern Africa (COMESA) in 1999.
