Morocco, Health, 7/4/2000
About 10% of Moroccan couples suffer from infertility problems and a person out of ten has difficulties to have a child, a release of the Moroccan medical information association said.
Compared to international statistics, 30% of infertility in Morocco is of man's origin, 40% is of woman's origin, the release added.
According to Moroccan specialists in reproductive health, the couple's infertility in Morocco is no longer a medical problem thanks to the existence of competent specialists graduated from international renowned schools and the opening of medical centers specialized in infertility treatment in addition to the availability of new medicines conceived by genetic engineering.
Till the beginning of the 90's, many couples had no solution to their infertility, the release said, adding that the development of the CSI technique or artificial insemination opened the way for the treatment of infertility of man's origin.
Today, the term "infertility" is almost disappearing from the medicine dictionary and is replaced by "reduced reproduction ability" reproduction capacities," the release said.
