Islamic development bank finances northern highway section

The Islamic development bank (IDB) will extend Morocco $ 37.55 million to finance the construction of Sidi El Yamani-Asilah highway section, a release of Jeddah-based IDB said.
The 15km-long -high-way section will cost $ 42 million, $ 37.55 million of which will be granted by IDB and the rest will be financed by the Moroccan national highways company.
The highway route is part of the project to build a highway between Rabat and Tangier (northern Morocco) intended to facilitate international road traffic, create adequate conditions for the transport of agricultural goods in the region of Loukous, improve road safety and break the the isolation of northern coastal areas.
