Morocco undertakes ambitious rural women promotion project

Morocco is undertaking an ambitious program for the promotion of rural women in the central region of Marrakesh (Haouz), for a total cost of $ 420,000.
The Haouz Regional office of Agriculture development says the European Union-backed project, meant to consolidate women participation in social and economic development, consists of poultry, rabbit, ovine, goat and bee culture plants and handicraft cooperatives to benefit a total of 576 women.
In addition to reduce illiteracy among women, the project will also create kindergartens, training centers for handicraft skills and new agricultural techniques.
