Free zone area opened between Jordan and Syria

The director general of the Jordanian general custom department Khaled al-Wazni stressed that the inauguration of the free zone between Jordan and Syria falls in the course of regional Arab cooperation in preparation to establish the greater Arab free trade zone which will have together all Arab states.
In a statement to the Jordanian paper al-Arab al-Youm said that "Syria is an important crossing for commodity trade with the countries of Europe, Asia and the former Soviet republics."
