GCC - French relations reviewed

The secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Sheikh Jamil al-Hujeilan on Sunday at the premises of the GCC in al-Riyadh received the chairman of the foreign relations and defense committee as well as armed forces at the French Senate, Senator Kravie Du Vilban, currently visiting Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting the two sides reviewed relations between the GCC and France, developments concerning the ME peace process and the efforts made by the European Union, as France is presiding over its current rotating presidency as from the 1st of July, in giving a push forward to this process.

The two sides also discussed means of consolidating cooperation between the GCC member states and the European Union in all fields in light of the results of the 10th meeting of the joint ministerial council of the GCC and the EU which was held in Brussels in May.
