Morocco's phone operator reaches one million gsm subscribers

Morocco's phone operator "Maroc Telecom" announced on Thursday it has recorded its first one millionth mobile subscriber.
The company said the record figure was reached thanks to its development strategy meant to cover almost all the Moroccan population and develop customized services.
After this achievement, Maroc-Telecom announced new price cuts perks for its subscribers, mainly a 60-minute free communication in the month of July and 60-minute communication in reduced price for holders of the pre-paid Jawal card in July and August.
Morocco's mobile phone market is shared between Maroc-Telecom and Meditel, a Spanish-Portuguese-Moroccan consortium which bought a second GSM license for $ 1.08 billion.
