Some 70 Moroccan women get seasonal jobs in Spain
Morocco-Spain, Economics, 7/1/2000
Some 70 Moroccan women were hired as seasonal workers in Spanish fruit sector, under an agreement signed in 1997 between the Moroccan and Spanish governments.
According to Spanish "El Pais" daily, this is the second experience of the kind. Last year, a group of 35 seasonal workers were hired to work in Spain's vegetables and fruits sectors.
Sources at the Spanish labor ministry explained that these seasonal workers are not stealing nationals' jobs, since Spaniards do not accept these jobs.
