Sudan: al-Torabi starts an opposition a newspaper

The Sudanese opposition welcomed the new National People's Conference party headed by Hassan al-Torabi and considered it a real addition to the opposition forces.

Close sources to al-Torabi referred that "his new party started issuing a newspaper that speaks in his name according to the existing press law in the country."

Ali El-Sayed, member of the opposition democratic union party said that the "New party will attract a large number of open minded Islamists and it will weakens the ruling National Conference party."

Adam Moussa Madbo, the spokesman of the opposition Umma party said that "the real conflict between the two Islamic wings has practically begun and it will extend to the judicial, executive and economic (areas)" as well as other fronts such as the students unions.
