Egypt calls for reshaping UN role

"The process of redesigning the UN role in economic and social fields is a difficult one in light of differences in interests between advanced and developing states on one hand and among developing countries on the other Egypt's Permanent Delegate to the UN" Ahmed Abul-Gheit said.

Egypt called for enhancing the role played by International Economic Funds in development projects in developing countries," Abul Gheit said.

"The meetings acquired special importance in light of the proposed ideas to reshape the UN role in economic and social domains to cope with international political and economic changes," he said.

"A constructive dialogue is being held by influential world parties to discuss how to deal with globalization to render it more positive to serve the development process in the developing world," he said.
