OIC invited to send investigation team to Mindanao

The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) has been invited to send an investigation team to Mindanao, Governor of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Nur Misuari said Wednesday.

He said this was agreed to by the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the Philippine delegates who briefed the Committee of Six appointed by the OIC to monitor the progress of the implementation of the peace agreement signed between the MNLF and the Philippine government.

The Committee of Six comprises Saudi Arabia, Libya, Bangladesh, Somalia, Senegal and Indonesia as chairman.

Misuari made the statement to reporters after the meeting of the Committee of Six at the 27th session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) held this June 27-30 in the Malaysian capital city, Kuala Lumpur.
