Turkish- Syrian relations are improving

In its Wednesday's issue, the Turkish daily Mellit stressed that relations between Syria and Turkey have been witnessing positive developments, adding that the two countries's interests require the consolidation of peace, friendship and stability.
The Turkish daily stressed that statements of Syrian and Turkish officials reflect the desire of the two countries to improve bilateral relations and open a new page in these relations for the joint interests of the Syrian and Turkish peoples.
The paper stressed that the participation of the Turkish President Ahmad Najdat Cezar in the late President al-Assad's funeral was a sign of improving bilateral relations. The paper expressed confidence that Lt. Gen. al-Assad will continue the steps pursued by his late father concerning the Syrian- Turkish relations.
