Bashar al-Assad meets with PDRK party delegation

Lt. Gen. Bashar al-Assad, the commander in chief of the Syrian army and armed forces on Wednesday received the chairman of the presidency commission of the people's higher council in the people's Democratic Republic of Korea ( PDRK) Kim Yong Nam and members of an accompanying delegation.

The delegation included the secretary of the central committee of the Korean Workers party, the ministers of foreign affairs and culture and other officials concerned.

Members of the Korean delegation offered Bashar al-Assad, the family of the late president and the people and government of Syria the condolences of the PDRK for the demise of the Late President Hafez al-Assad.

Nam the great achievements realized in Syria by the late President al-Assad for his people and the world in the service of freedom and progress. " The loss of this great president is a loss for all world people," he said.

Lt. Gen. Bashar thanked the Korean delegation for their condolences and asked his greetings to be conveyed to President Kim Jung Il and to the people of PDRK.

A similar meeting was held between the Korean visiting delegation and the Assistant secretary general of the Baath Arab Socialist Party Abdullah al-Ahmar during which bilateral relations were reviewed between the two parties and countries.
