On the Cabinet-reshuffle in Syria
Syria, Politics, 6/29/2000

The London-based al-Zaman paper said on Wednesday that sources in Damascus told it that news which talked about the possibility of making ministerial reshuffle in Syria before the referendum for the presidency of Bashar al-Assad for Syria are incorrect and shows ignorance on the pursued political mechanism pursued to this effect.

The sources explained the ministerial reshuffle necessitates the existence of a president of the country to make it, adding that the ministerial reshuffle will be made after the referendum which was set to be held on July 10th.

The ministerial reshuffle requires Bashar to be officially the president of the republic so as the prime minister will be able to submit the resignation of his government or making a reshuffle for it to the President who would be than have started his post of office officially.
