Palestinians demand a Palestinian country by September 1st

Palestinians in Gaza urged on bringing forward the declaration of the Palestinian country on the 1st of September instead of September the 13th so that the Palestinian president Yasser Arafat would be able to ask for a full membership for Palestine during the coming Millennium Summit that will be attended by a large number of the world's leaders.
Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian top negotiator, asserted that the negotiations he held with Israelis did not achieve remarkable results concerning releasing the detainees in Israeli prisons and the Israeli military withdrawal from the West Bank.
