Damascus denounces Algerian journalists' visit to Israel
Syria-Algeria, Politics, 6/28/2000

The Syrian newspaper El-Baath denounced yesterday the visit paid by a delegation from the Algerian students and journalists the day before yesterday to Israel.

The news paper, which speaks in name of the ruling party in Syria, considered that the delegation couldnot be from "the land of the million martyrs and we can not believe that there is a violation to the press honor charter which refuses the unjust and aggression as well as the normalization with Israel."

The Algerian press delegation started his visit the day before yesterday and met Israeli foreign minister David Levi in Jerusalem to fulfill the invitation addressed by the Israeli foreign ministry.

The Algerian presidentship issued a statement yesterday in which they accused those journalists of being traitors and betrays the journalists who refuse the normalization with Israel.
