Torabi decides to establish 'national people conference' party

In an expected step after being discharged from the post of the secretary general of the Sudanese National Conference, Hassan al-Torabi decided to establish a new party named the "National People's Conference."

During declarations of the party, El-Torabi launched an attack on the ruling party and on the government as well as the presidentship, accusing Bashir and his followers of violating the constitution and press freedom by putting it under the military monitor.

He said that he left the National Conference party under threat of weapons and he was deprived from a press forum, adding "we want an independent party away from any governmental control."
