Human rights organizations in Arab states ask Bashar al-Assad to release 57 detainees
Syria-Egypt, Politics, 6/28/2000

The Human rights organizations in the Arab states asked Bashar al-Assad to release 57 detainees in the Syrian prison or retrying them fairly.

They called on him to put human rights on top of his agenda as well as making judicial and legislative reform in Syria.

A Syrian source criticized these demands and said that these organizations must determine for whose good they are working and to clarify the source of their money, saying that these organizations which currently exist in the Arab states are "fishy."

The sources warned that they must not dare on interfering in the legislative and the judicial process in the Arab states.
