On the Lebanese parliamentary elections

Lebanese deputy premier and minister of the interior Michael al-Murr has announced that the final date for carrying out the parliamentary elections in Lebanon according to the bill project, he had submitted on Tuesday to the Cabinet is expected to release the decree for inviting for elections during this week.

In a press conference he held in Beirut on Tuesday that the Lebanese minister of the Interior added that the first session will be held on August 27 in Lebanon's Mount., and the north and on September 3rd in the provinces of the south al-Nabatieh, the Bekaa and Beirut.

He said that the citizens can only vote by the use of the election card.

He indicated that the ministry of the interior will start as from next Monday a media campaign to urge citizens to apply for having the election cards.

He added that so far some 1.3 million election cards were releases and expected the maximum number to reach 1.45 million cards.

He stressed that the authority will be neutral in the election process and will be careful to have honest elections.

He said that the ministry of the interior has completed all logistic information to cope with the election operation.
