War victims between Ethiopia and Eritrea

The Eritrea's ministry of defense said on Tuesday that almost 110,000 ( one hundred and ten thousands ) Ethiopian soldiers were killed or wounded during the recent battles between Eritrea and Ethiopia.

Eritrea's minister of Defense Sabhat Afram said on Monday evening that since last May Ethiopia resorted during its third attack since the beginning of the war between the two countries in May 1998 to use human shields on the Eritrea's defense lines and as a result lost almost 110,000 soldiers as wounded or killed.

However, on June 18, both Ethiopia and Addis Ababa signed an agreement in Algeria provides for ceasing acts of hostilities. The agreement stated to replace the Ethiopian forces which incurred into the Eritrea's territories by a UN peace keeping force. No date was given for the re-deployment of this forces.
