Journalists union criticize visit of Algerian media delegation to Israel
Regional-Algeria, Politics, 6/27/2000

The visit paid by an Algerian media delegation to Israel caused a stir in the Arab states, and the Arab journalists union criticized the visit and depicted it of being a violation of the union's resolutions.

The visit caused a strong Palestinian resentment and the Algerian government disavowed the Algerian delegation as Algerian President Bu Taflika said that those media persons are not authorized to speak on behalf of the Algerians or in his government's name.

The Arab journalists union assured that the visit is bad and injurious to some people who do have commitment to the union's charters and resolutions, denouncing it and depicting it of being a violation to the resolutions of the Arab boycott of Israel and warned of the results of repeating such attempts.

The union also asked the Algerian government to strike off this group from the journalists' union.
