Discharging al-Torabi and choosing a new secretary general

The assigned secretary general of the national conference Ibrhaim Ahmed Omar expressed his acceptance to the Shura council's resolution for this post, assuring that the Shura council's resolutions are obligations on all the members, saying that the coming stage will witness consultation and adherence to the right principles, unity and the end of the duplication of authority of the previous era.

He emphasized that he will work on pushing forward the national reconciliation, achieving peace and supporting the stability and development of the country.

Hassan al-Torabi was the secretary general of the of conference before being discharged by the Sudanese president.

Thus, in order to keep the ruling National Conference, the Shura council decided that Ibrahim Ahmed Omar, - the Sudanese president's assistance, to assume the power of secretary general of the party till convening the party's general conference later on this current year.
