Bashar al-Assad elected Baath party secretary general, RL members distributed on offices

The new Regional Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist party, formed on June 20 by the 9th regional congress of the Baath party, on Saturday held its first meeting. During the meeting, Bashar al-Assad, the secretary general of the Baath party central committee leadership, was elected as Regional Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party.
Suleiman Qaddah was elected as Assistant Regional Secretary of the Baath party and other members of the RL were distributed to the following offices: Walid Hamdoun as chairman of workers and financial offices, Fayez al-Nasser of the organizational office; Ahmad Dirgham as of the party's qualification and organizations office; Farouk Abu al-Shamaat of the legal and vocational trade unions bureaus, Ibrahim Hneidi of peasants office; Muhammad Saeed Bukheitan of the national security office, Walid al-Bouz of education and vanguards offices, Ghaith Barakat for the higher education office, Majid Shaddoud of youths and sports office and Muhammad al-Hussein of the economic office.
