Algeria-Israel, Politics, 6/26/2000

The national committee against normalization with Israel in Algeria decided to hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the question of the Algerian journalists who are visiting Israel.

The committee will release a statement defining its position on this visit and other events relating to normalization with Israel.

The London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily published on Sunday said that an Algerian media delegation representing several private Algerian papers was due to have started on Sunday a visit to Israel which will last for ten days at the official invitation of the Israeli government.

The daily added the Algerian media delegation will meet during this visit with several Israeli officials and university teachers and will also visit several Israeli official establishments.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat said that the Algerian delegation will arrive in Tel Aviv on board of a plane for the Israeli airlines "al-Aal."
