Arafat for a new page of relations with Syria

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has stressed that he is looking forward to start a new page of relations with Damascus and to maintain cooperation between his government and Syria in all matters of concern to the Palestinian and Syrian peoples, especially the ME peace process. "A matter the PA has ever sought," he said.
In a telephone statement to the Saudi Daily Okaz published on Sunday Arafat expressed his hope that Lt. Gen. Bashar will be able to take the proper decision in the due time, concerning these relations.
