Morocco's El Guerrouj wins 1,500 m-race of paris event

Moroccan field and track star, Hicham El Guerrouj, won on Friday the 1,500 m-race of the Paris Saint-Denis Golden League Athletics events.

El Gerrouj run the distance in 3.30:75, ahead of Kenya's Bernard Lagat (3.33:14) and French Mehdi Baala (3.33:67).

In the 3,000 meter event, Morocco's Said El Ouardi came in fourth, followed by Brahim Lahlafi, another Moroccan athlete, while the first place was grabbed by Algerian Ali Said Saif (7.27:67). The second and third ranks went respectively to Kenyan Daniel Komen (7.31:47) and Ethiopian Word Million (7.32:36).

In the women 800m-race, Morocco's Hasna Benhassi held the 3rd rank with a 2.00:62 time. The race was grabbed by Belgian Stals Sandra (2.00:53) ahead of Czech Formanova Lodmila (2.00:61).

Morocco's Zahra Ouaziz finished up 7th in the 3,000 m event that was grabbed by Poland's Lidia Chojecka.

The Paris Saint-Denis meet is part of the IAAF Golden league Prize.
