Morocco, Politics, 6/24/2000
The number of women holding executive positions in Moroccan public administrations is still weak, said Hussein Aziz, minister of public service and administrative reform.
Despite the progression in the number of women-executives in public administrations, their participation in the management of public affairs remains below the targeted level, said the minister quoting a survey conducted by his department.
The minister who was speaking at the opening of a study day held in Rabat on the occasion of the African public service day, added that with a total of 30,751, the rate of women holding executive administrative positions stands at 20%. Morocco counts 151,763 women public servants, accounting for 31% of the total staff.
