Israel seizes Palestinian, Lebanese prisoners
Israel, Politics, 6/24/2000
The chairman of the Palestinian group in charge of the rights of the Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails Basem Eid said the Israeli authorities fabricate claims and pretexts to seize Palestinian and Lebanese detainees and hostages in its jails without any legal justification.
In an interview with the BBC on Friday, Eid added that Israel tries to fabricate illegal laws to justify seizing prisoners of the Lebanese and Palestinian national resistance, especially Mustafa al-Deirani and Abdul Karim Eid who were kidnapped by Israel from their houses in Lebanon in a criminal and banned act of piracy.
He said that the current Israeli laws are null, void and groundless as well as violate all international laws.
On Thursday the US " Human rights Watch " organization which is a big defender of human right criticized Israel's attempt to find out laws permit it to suspend prisoners as hostages. The US organization stressed that this Israeli policy is a sort of a war crime.
