Annan talked to UNDOF members in the Golan

The UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on Friday expressed his hope that Israel's withdrawal from South Lebanon will lead to the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
Annan added in a speech he made before members of UNDOF working in the occupied Syrian Golan that this withdrawal constitutes an important step towards peace, hoping that this will be conducive to other developments so as to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
