Premier leads Moroccan delegation to UN extraordinary assembly in Geneva
Regional, Economics, 6/23/2000
Morocco's Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi will lead the Moroccan delegation to the United Nations 24th extraordinary assembly to be held in Geneva June 26-28.
The assembly is a follow-up to the world summit on social development held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995. Governments had then pledged to promote social development and integration, reduce unemployment and fight poverty.
The Moroccan delegation will include the minister of social development, solidarity, employment and vocational training, and delegates of trade unions, of the employers' association and concerned non-governmental organizations, a statement by the Prime Minister's office said.
Youssoufi will confer, on the sidelines of the assembly, with a number of heads of state and senior executives of international organizations dealing with human rights and social development.
