First Jordanian peaceful nuclear reactor

The International Agency for Atomic Energy is intending to provide, shortly, the Jordanian government with a small nuclear reactor dedicated for peaceful purposes and will be the first of its kind to be owned by Jordan.
The Jordanian daily al-Arab al-Youm on Thursday published the text of the draft project submitted by the Jordanian government on Wednesday to the parliament which provides for the establishment of a "Jordanian Nuclear energy commission," in preparation for getting the reactor which will be provided as a donation by the international agency to Jordan. The cost of this donation is US $ 1.25.
The Jordanian paper added the reactor will be dedicated for training and scientific research to peaceful purposes and to install the nuclear radiation monitoring stations in all parts of the Kingdom.
The Jordanian parliament is expected to discuss the draft project during its special session expected this Summer.
