Moroccan- egyptian commission for scientific, technological cooperation winds up

The Moroccan-Egyptian joint commission for Scientific and technological cooperation wound up here Wednesday with the signing of the commission's minutes.

The minutes, signed by the two countries' higher education ministers Najib Zerouali (Morocco) and Moufid Chihab (Egypt), called for encouraging the connection of two ministries' information networks to activate information and expertise exchange, especially in the fields of desert encroachment fight, water, biotechnology, genetic engineering and information technologies.

The two sides stressed the need to undertake joint research projects of common interest and to contribute to the presentation of proposals in the field of scientific research..

They agreed to renew and to activate the scientific and technological cooperation agreement between the Egyptian scientific and technological research academy and Moroccan national center of coordination and planning of scientific and technological research.

The commission called for the promotion of cooperation between universities and scientific research institutes through the signing of cultural cooperation agreements and holding of forums, conferences and scientific exhibitions.
