Official Nomination of Bashar al-Assad for Syria's presidentship set

Informed Syria sources assured in press declaration today that "the decision of nominating Lieutenant General Bashar al-Assad as a president of the Republic will be issued in the session of the Syrian People's Assembly on coming Sunday and the referendum date will be in July."

The sources added that the procedures for finishing the referendum took place during the last few days and that the constitutional oath of the new president will perform will be followed by a ministerial amendment. The sources expected that the amendment would comprise exchanging some ministerial posts.

In the same time, Abdullah al-Ahmar, the assistant secretary general for the Baath party in Syria did not exclude amending the current Syrian government in the current period.
