Sudan's decision to release opposition members appreciated

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir released an unconditional amnesty for all opposition members to his government inside and outside the country and released all political detainees and prisoners.

The Sudanese news agency said that every Sudanese, being a military or a civilian person who committed illegal act between June 30 1989 and the date of issuing of this Amnesty decree, will benefit from this pardoning.

The decree defines as illegal act, the actions of rebellion, fleeing army services, provocation to launch war against the state or attempting to violate the constitution. Acts committed inside or outside Sudan.

However, this decree which was issued on Wednesday just several days on the 11th anniversary of al-Bashir's assuming power.

One of the leading figures of the Sudanese Ummah ( nation) party Ibrahim al-Ameen has welcomed the step taken by the Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir in releasing free all Sudanese opposition members, unconditionally. al-Ameen said this is a positive step which will result in unifying the ranks of all Sudanese towards meeting the ambitions of the Sudanese people.

In an interview with the Monte Carlo radio, al-Ameen added that the al-Ummah party welcomes and commends to every and each act that can bring together the Sudanese people and honor their ambitions.
