The 9th regional congress of the Baath Arab Socialist Party on Tuesday evening concluded its 9th session convened on June 17 -20. Bashar al-Assad was elected among other 20 as member of the Baath Party regional leadership and that this leadership will meet within two days to elect him as its secretary general. The congress also elected 21 members of the Baath party regional leadership and 90 members for the Baath party central command.
