Qaddafi visits Morocco by the end of this month
Libya-Morocco, Politics, 6/21/2000

Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi will visit Libya by the end of this month after the Moroccan King returns from his current visit to Washington.

The visit of the Libyan President to Morocco is considered the first under the rule of King Muhammad 6th.

Well-informed sources said talks between the Moroccan king and al-Qaddafi will deal with several issues of concern to the two states, foremost being Morocco's return back to the membership of the Organization of African Unity . Morocco had withdrawn from this organization in protest of the OAU recognition of the Polisario front.

Besides al-Qaddafi's attempt to have Morocco's backing to the African federation project proposed by Libya to the OAU.

It is however, expected that the Libyan- Moroccan summit will discuss means of reviving the Arab Maghreb Union, especially the differences arising between Morocco and Algeria.
