Baath Party's 9th regional congress adopted recommendations

In its conclusion session on Tuesday June 20th, the 9th regional congress approved the political report and the recommendations of the political committee, which deal with Syria's policy vis a vis the internal, Arab and international issues.
The recommendations stressed Syria's continued policy of consolidating relations with world countries and Syria's backing for the UN and the regional and international organizations which work for the establishment of peace in the world and providing humanitarian aid to countries.
The report also stressed work for revitalizing Arab solidarity, settling inter-Arab disputes by fraternal dialogue, activating the performance of the Arab League and its establishments, correcting current international state of affairs and cooperation among states so as to achieve people's rights to self- determination and deepening ties between Arab expatriates in their new countries and the homeland. It also put stress on modernization and development as well as on revitalizing state establishments, fighting negative aspects in the framework of the anti- corruption campaign and continuing efforts to strengthen and deepen the internal front and relationship between the Baath party and the masses.
The congress also approved the organizational report and amendments proposed by the organizational committee.
The adopted recommendations highlighted several issues pertinent to the work of the party of the party qualification bureaus of education, youths, sports, workers, peasants, higher education and people's organizations and vocational trade unions.
The congress also approved the economic report and recommendations of the economic committee and proposals of the conferees.
The recommendations dealt with the future prospects of the economy through constant amendment of rules and regulations that help in achieving the balance between authorities and responsibilities to improve investment climate and state departments and eliminate routine practices. The recommendations also dealt with paying more attention to information technology, taking necessary measures to improve the private sector, strengthening the role of the public sector and improving the administrative efficiency. The recommendations also dealt with several issues relating to agriculture, irrigation, electricity, monetary, education, higher education, health care, social care, building and construction, culture, information and housing and utilities.
