Moslem Brothers group in Jordan renew refusal to participate in the executive authority
Jordan, Politics, 6/20/2000

The Moslem Brothers group in Jordan said that they still adhere to their position in refusing to participate in the executive authority.

They also threatened to take disciplinary procedures against Sheik Abd El-Rahim Lakour, who accepted a ministerial post in the newly formed government.

Lakour assured that "he joined the new (government) in his personal capacity."

Lakour's punishment varies between freezing his membership or being rejected from the most influential movement on the Jordanian arena.

The government's program will be full of resolutions, which aim at invigorating the economy and to attract investments as well as accelerating the privatization program.

Former Prime Minister Abd El-Raouf El-Rawabdah blamed influential political fronts of having sought to obstruct his government.
