New Israeli ambassador to Jordan
Jordan-Palestine, Politics, 6/20/2000
The Israeli foreign ministry on Monday said it will assign David Sultan, its current ambassador to Canada, as Israel's ambassador to Jordan.
The director general of the Israeli foreign ministry Eitan Bin Tsour said in an interview with the Israeli radio on Monday that Israel's ambassador to Canada is the best candidate for the post of Israel's ambassador to Jordan.
Bin Tsour explained that Israel's ambassador in Amman Odit Eiran has recently asked to terminate his post in Jordan because of his intensive preoccupation in the negotiations with the Palestinians.
The Israeli radio remarked that Sultan was in the past Israel's ambassador in Cairo.
