Moroccan communication minister attends Arab information council

Moroccan communication minister, Larbi Messari, is expected on Tuesday in Cairo to attend the 33rd session of the Arab information ministers' council which opens on Wednesday.
Messari will also meet on Tuesday members of the Arab Journalists Union over "developments in Morocco." Secretary general of the Cairo-based Union, Salah Eddine Hafed, said "the union has decided to hold the meeting with the Moroccan minister to inquire about the situation of the press freedom and about democratic development in Morocco."
He added that it will be an opportunity to start a "frank dialogue" between the Moroccan official and a panel of Arab writers and journalists.
The Arab information ministers council will debate several issues on the media role in preserving the Arab-Islamic identity of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), the situation in the Palestinian lands, the struggle against Israel's occupation of Arab territories and means to further support the Palestinian action in information realms.
