Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 6/16/2000

He added " Officials at the UN know that the reason behind the slowness in the verification is resulting from the intensive land mines implanted by Israel on the borders. These mines need care caution for the life of the team carrying the verification or members of representatives for the UN.

He stressed Lebanon's determination to cooperate with the UN to a large extent in implementing assigned tasks to its forces in south Lebanon, but while still reserving its right to restore back every inch of the Lebanese territories which is still under the Israeli occupation, including Shebaa farms and the Israeli infiltration points of the international borders with Lebanon, even the positions which were not verified by the UN team.
