First Lady Mubarak leads Egypt's delegation to UN General Assembly Meetings

Egypt's First Lady Mubarak Suzanne Mubarak is due to lead Egypt's delegation to the UN General Assembly's extraordinary meetings which will be reviewing what has been implemented from the 1995 Copenhagen Conference on Social Development.

The meetings are due in Geneva on June 26-30, said Insurance and Social Affairs Minister Amina El-Guindi.

The session will be attended by representatives of all the countries Egypt, on its part, has fulfilled all its commitments at the national, regional and international levels, El-Guindi said highlighting Egypt's efforts in eliminating poverty and unemployment.

The first lady will speak on Egypt's economic reform experiment in the social perspective.

She will also address Egypt's future programs of upgrading living conditions as well as the international community's support to the developing countries.

Meanwhile, the first two-day forum for children and motherhood, which concluded sessions Wednesday, voiced appreciation to President Hosni Mubarak's efforts for the welfare of children and mothers.

It also lauded efforts being exerted by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak in the same domain through a plan that aims at promoting conditions of children.

Recommendations by the forum covered the call for promoting education, evaluating healthcare projects, boosting the relevant TV role, the need to curb pollution and paying attention to children with special needs in villages.
