Mubarak receives thanks from Islamic Congress Conference

The 12th Congress of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs on Wednesday called for complete coordination in the field of scientific research and technology among Islamic countries.
In the Cairo Declaration Wednesday, attendees said Islamic countries must exchange research papers and knowledge among themselves.
They said Islamic countries must work on training technical cadres and transfer technology to their states.
In the final declaration issued at the end of three days of meetings, the Congress, urged scientists to abide by the moral ethics of Islam in scientific research, saying it would protect them from degeneration.
The Congress hailed Egypt's stance towards technology and said technology has become an urgent and basic need for countries in modern times.
Muslim Ulemas, participating in the 12th of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs, have agreed that the Islamic nation has no option in this century but to seek a new formula that helps it keep abreast with this century's accomplishments.
The Islamic nation could only have a place on the map of the advanced world through science. They urged Islamic leaders to create proper atmosphere to integrate technology into their countries as a basic step on the road of achieving the aspired surge.
Meanwhile, participants in the 12th Islamic Congress of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Wednesday sent a cable of thanks to President Hosni Mubarak.
Participants in the Conference and Representatives from 146 states and organizations hailed President Mubarak for his interest in and sponsorship of the Muslim and peace causes worldwide.
Furthermore, Waqfs (Islamic Endowments) Minister Mahmoud Hamdy Zaqzouq Wednesday decided to form a panel to follow up the recommendations of the 12th Congress of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
