King Mohammed chairs religious ceremony on prophet's birthday

Morocco's King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, chaired Wednesday night at the Hassan II Grand Mosque of Casablanca a religious ceremony, marking the anniversary of the birthday of Prophet Mohammed. The ceremony, that was attended by Malian President Alpha Omar Konare, was marked by the reading of verses of the holy Koran and poems chanting the glory of Islam and the prophet.
The king was accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid and Prince Moulay Ismail.
The Ceremony was also attended by Premier, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, the Speakers of the two houses of parliament and the members of the cabinet.
