Baath party audition committee criticizes irresponsible behaviors of certain Baathists

An internal report of the ruling Baath party in Syria indicated that there are "irresponsible behaviors " that violated Baathist activities and performance in the recent years. A matter which resulted in " non- selectivity in choosing Party cadres to several posts."

The report stressed Damascus's commitment to its stand towards achieving peace in the Middle East.

The report which was prepared by the Baath Party audition and inspection committee which is composed of five members in the Baath party regional leadership to the 9th regional congress to be held on Saturday near Damascus, spoke about " deepening the Baath party experience in leading the state and the society on the ground of the democratic element of the people's authority, strengthening national unity and the material building of Syria's steadfastness."

The conference will be held in the presence of 1150 Baath party members of whom 950 that can vote and also nominate themselves to the elections of the central committee ( 90 members) which is composed of 21 members and forms the main body for high posts in the government and the military establishment.

Moreover, political and organizational reports on the work of the Baath party for the 15 recent years have been prepared to be discussed and to draw a vision for the future. But the congress, in particular, will concentrate basically on the issue of nominating Bashar al-Assad for the chairmanship of the Baath party ( as secretary general of the Baath Party) in preparation to nominate him for the Syrian presidency.

The report noted the Syrian position concerning the peace process. It said "Syria has become the State of the Arab especially in the battle for peace, in seeking to establishing a just and comprehensive peace based on international legitimacy resolution."

The report added that " Damascus, of the Baath party, has become an edifice for the national cause and a state for the Arabs. A country which owns the decision of war and peace in the central cause for the Arabs, the cause of Palestine, and other causes, especially in sisterly Lebanon, and cohesion between the Syrian and Lebanese tracks."
