Bahrain's emir offers condolences on late President al-Assad's demise, relations discussed

Lt. Gen. Bashar al-Assad, the commander of the army and armed forces on Wednesday received the Emir of Bahrain Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa and members of the accompanying delegation.
Bahrain's Emir offered condolences to Bashar al-Assad, the al-Assad family and the Syrian people at the demise of the late President Hafez al-Assad.
He stressed the development of brotherly relations between Bahrain and Syria for the benefits of the two sisterly countries.
Earlier in the day, the Emir of Bahrain visited the tomb of the late President, together with several Bahraini ministers.
In a statement to SANA, The Emir of Bahrain said " with hearts full of sadness and sorrow, we share our brothers in Syria sadness at the death of the late President al-Assad. We appeal to the Almighty God to bless the deceased..We offer our heart-felt commiseration to Dr. Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian people and government at the demise of the great leader who offered great efforts for the prosperity and the welfare of his people and the Arab nation.."
The Emir of Bahrain continued: " as we expressed our sympathy over the death of the great President, we do appreciate and support the will of the Syrian people in nominating Dr. Bashar to lead his country." He added, "our support is built on Dr. Bashar's spirit of youth, the sense of nationalism and sincere efforts he had inspired from his late father."
The Emir of Bahrain also recalled the warm relations linking Bahrain's late Emir Sheikh Issa Bin Salman al-Khaleifa and his "brother" the late President Hafez al-Assad and the efforts they made to strengthen Bahraini- Syrian relations, in the service of the Arab causes and solidarity.
He added the Bahrain and the Arab nation have lost a historic leader who dedicated his life to serve his people and defend his nation's causes and rights.
He stressed the position of Bahrain's people and leadership in backing Syria in this catastrophic event.
The Emir of Bahrain also recalled the honest stances advocated by the late president towards Bahrain and the Arab nation. He stressed Bahrain's confidence that the Syrian leadership will continue the march already started by the late president for serving Arab causes.
Meantime, Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received the leader of the Hizbullah party Sheikh Hussein Fadlullah and members of the accompanying delegation. During the meeting Fadlullah offered condolences for the death of President Hafez al-Assad.
Bashar al-Assad also on Wednesday afternoon in al-Qardaha received Khaled Abdul Nasser and his brother Abdul Hakim Abdul Nasser. Khaled Abdul Nasser, during the meeting offered condolences on the demise of the late President. They, earlier in the day visited the tomb of the late president, SANA reported.
